We are the authoritative source for information regarding individual, aerobic, life-long sports and fitness in the area. The Adirondack Explorer is a nonprofit monthly regional newspaper devoted to exploring all facets of the wonderfully complex patchwork of lands, lakes, mountains, activities and issues that flourish within the Adirondack Park. They feature news and stories on recreational opportunities, wildlife, conservation, and history, as well as profiles of fascinating people and places. Book reviews, editorials, letters, an Adirondack calendar of events and a wildly popular "Its Debatable" forum that gives equal time to opposing sides of controversial issues are also featured. Franklin County, where the Paul Smiths campus is located, offers a wide range of recreational opportunities: canoeing, camping, hiking, biking, fishing, golfing, horseback riding, skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. This site, sponsored by Franklin County Tourism, is a comprehensive guide that includes canoe maps, adventure packages, and information on events and lodging.
