Adirondack Sports & Fitness is an outdoor recreation and
fitness magazine covering the Adirondack Park and greater
Capital-Saratoga region of New York State. We are the
authoritative source for information regarding individual,
aerobic, life-long sports and fitness in the area.

The Adirondack Explorer is a nonprofit monthly regional
newspaper devoted to exploring all facets of the wonderfully
complex patchwork of lands, lakes, mountains, activities and
issues that flourish within the Adirondack Park. They feature
news and stories on recreational opportunities, wildlife,
conservation, and history, as well as profiles of fascinating
people and places. Book reviews, editorials, letters, an
Adirondack calendar of events and a wildly popular "Its
Debatable" forum that gives equal time to opposing sides of
controversial issues are also featured.

Franklin County, where the Paul Smiths campus is located,
offers a wide range of recreational opportunities: canoeing,
camping, hiking, biking, fishing, golfing, horseback riding,
skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. This site, sponsored
by Franklin County Tourism, is a comprehensive guide that
includes canoe maps, adventure packages, and information
on events and lodging.

The Adirondack Museum at Blue Mountain Lake is well worth
the one-hour drive from Paul Smith's campus. This site
provides an on-line preview of the 32-acre Museum, which
focuses on the history and cultural heritage of the
Adirondack region.

Adirondack Mountains Region
This well-organized site, sponsored by the Adirondack
Regional Tourism Council, provides an extensive listing of
recreational opportunities throughout the Adirondack region,
including detailed hiking maps, trail descriptions, and a guide
to Adirondack waterways.

Founded in 1922, this member-directed organization is
dedicated to the protection and responsible recreational use
of the New York forest preserve, parks, and other wild lands
and waters. ADK's web site features information about
outings, volunteer opportunities, ADK facilities, and local
chapters (the two closest to PSC are Adirondak Loj and
Keene Valley). Serious hikers can purchase ADK trail guides
through the on-line shop.

ORDA was created by New York State to manage the facilities
used during the 1980 Olympic Winter Games at Lake Placid
-- a half-hour ride from Paul Smiths campus.  This site
provides information on summer and winter events such as
biking , skiing, skating, hiking and bobsled rides.

Rainbow Lake Association
This association has a lot of helpful information as well as a
good map of the Rainbow Lake waterways.

Online Travel Guide
This online travel guide to the Adirondacks features things to
do and see in the Adirondacks including camping,
snowboarding, golfing, historical sites, maple sugaring, and
antique shops.

Pendragon Theater
